OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a program established by the Catholic Church to initiate non-Catholics into the Catholic Christian community. Those Catholics who have not received Confirmation or Eucharist are also part of the OCIA process.
Individuals preparing for the sacrament meet regularly to deepen their personal faith journey and to understand how the Christian community preaches and lives the Good News of Jesus Christ. Catechists, sponsors and parish staff members play essential roles as part of this collaborative team.
